Bus shelters/seats

  • Bus shelters are roofed structures at bus stops, designed to shelter bus patrons from weather as they wait for their transport.
  • Bus shelters can also advertise products - they are generally installed by advertising companies in agreement and in liaison with the City of Canning.
  • The care and maintenance of the bus shelter is the responsibility of the company under agreement with the City. Bus shelters are cleaned by Y-Stop (1300 236 242).
  • There are currently two advertising companies under agreement with the City for the maintenance of bus shelters: Y-Stop (previously Bench Ad), and ooh! Media (previously Adshel). Y-Stop is responsible for advertising on non-glass bus shelters, bins and seats and ooh! Media are responsible for advertising on glass shelters.
  • Not all bus stops within the City of Canning are allocated a shelter or seat. The City prioritises installation based on a number of factors including patronage.
